Data Center Facilities Solutions that grow with you

Data Center Facilities
Solutions that grow with you

Choosing a data center solution is a critical decision for most companies. There are many options out there, but not all of them are right for your business. DCI Data Centers sets itself apart by giving you what the others can't. From site selection and negotiations, to installation and uptime performance, DCI offers the most effective solution for you.

Our data centers are flexible, scalable and efficient, allowing your company to do what it does best: focusing on your business and not the technology behind it. They are also carrier-neutral, enabling you to work with your provider of choice. Most of the leading carriers are already servicing customers in our facilities, so the competitive environment ensures you get the best available pricing. If a carrier isn't present, we'll work with you to get them on board.

We see ourselves as your business partners, invested in your success. As you grow, so our support will grow with you. And being a Blackstone Portfolio Company, you can be assured of our long-term stability too.

DCI Technology Holdings and DCI Data Centers

Under Daniel A. Schryer’s leadership, the San Francisco-based DCI Technology Holdings has owned or operated more than 4.5 million square feet of enterprise-class data facilities valued at approximately $2 billion dollars.

Prior to founding DCI Technology Holdings, Mr. Schryer created and operated Venture Asset Partners in 2001. The firm specialized in the management and sale of assets of struggling data center companies. In July of 2002, Venture Asset Partners was hired by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, Wilmington to liquidate selected data centers of Exodus Communications, formerly a $9B global data center provider with more than two dozen facilities in the Unites States, Asia and Europe. These sales resulted in transactions with Dell Computer, Freddie Mac, Washington Mutual Bank among others.

Venture Asset Partners’ success morphed into DCI Technology Holdings, a company co-founded in 2003 by Mr. Schryer and Mr. Mullee. The firm, headquartered in Palo Alto, owned and operated 14 data centers throughout the U.S. including Silicon Valley, Dallas, New Jersey, Ohio and Minneapolis. In late 2015, the partners also co-founded DCI Data Centers, a Blackstone Portfolio Company. The Singapore-based firm is currently developing a portfolio of data center projects throughout the greater Asia-Pacific region.

In 1998, Mr. Schryer co-founded Urban Media Communications, a Palo Alto, Calif.-based $130 million venture capital-backed broadband service provider. Serving as the company’s Senior Vice President of Business Development, Mr. Schryer negotiated telecommunications access rights agreements with major real estate REIT and Property Manager Companies, which launched the firm’s platform in the U.S.

Mr. Schryer began his professional career in commercial real estate in San Francisco.

Mr. Schryer earned his Bachelor of Science in Managerial Economics from the University of California, Davis.

DCI Data Centers

Spencer E. Mullee is the Founder, Chief Operating Officer and Member of the Board Of Directors at DCI Data Centers. He received a B.S. from the University of California, Davis. After college, Spencer began his professional career as a technical trainer and education administrator.

Spencer became more involved in technology and in 1999 was a co-founder and Senior Director at Telegis Networks, Inc., a Cisco Systems/venture capital backed data center company. Spencer handled site selection, negotiated contracts for lease and/or purchase, procured power and telecommunications services, and designed, entitled and/or constructed over 1M SF of data center projects. In 2000-2001, during the “Internet bust,” Spencer led the team in selling the company’s data center assets worldwide, including facilities in the USA, Europe and Asia (Tokyo and Singapore).

As a result of those efforts, Spencer was hired in 2001 to sell the assets of Exodus, an international data center provider with over two dozen facilities worldwide. The program was extremely successful and lead to the forma on of DCI Technology Holdings as an owner and operator of enterprise class data facilities nationally.

Spencer was with DCI Data Center’s predecessor, DCI Technology Holdings, LLC, since its formation in 2001. Spencer led the company’s data center design, development, construction and operations, with significant experience in facility/location acquisitions, due diligence, entitlement, construction, leasing and disposition.

Over 14 years with DCI Technology Holdings, LLC, Spencer was involved in more than a dozen data center and technology assets totaling over 3.5M SF with a replacement value in excess of $1.8 billion dollars. Additionally, Spencer has overseen more than 1.2M SF of data center and technology expansions with construction budgets exceeding $800 million dollars. Under Spencer’s management of the company’s assets, DCI realized an average IRR on projects of over 33% annualized.
